Why are we waiving our right to a divorce?

Dana and I spent the past year understanding each other and what it means to love. In the process of our journey, we dove deep within as we got to know our true selves, i.e., why we think the way we think and why we feel the way we feel. In the process, we got to know true love. Once we understood the nature of true love, we realized there is nothing better. Money, fame, and power only bring about momentary happiness or excitement. Love, on the other hand, if it is true, brings us everlasting joy. Just like true love, a true marriage is everlasting. For that reason, we decided if we are to marry in the name of true love, it has to be a true marriage, i.e., a marriage with no loopholes and no exit strategies.

How did we come up with the idea?

While in London last year, we were being interviewed by Olivia Attwood for ITV2’s new documentary series Getting Filthy Rich. During the filming, Oilivia asked Dana and I if we plan to get married. We both answered no because we are already soulmates planning to be together forever regardless of marriage. We thought, what is the point of marriage if people can choose later to get divorced? That was when the idea came to us that we would only marry if we could do the opposite, that is, to legally waive our right to a divorce.
