What is love

Our Mission: To study love, embody love, to teach love, and to spread love.

Why is love so important?

“Love” is the most misunderstood and misused word. Yet it is the most important word of all.

“Our understanding of what love is, and our embodiment of that understanding, creates the reality we live in.”

The above statement is profound and true at the same time. Just compare the cultures of different countries and you can see the differences. Some cultures are more “loving” than others. This phenomenon can also be observed when comparing the cultures of different cities, suburbs, or neighborhoods. Some neighborhoods embody a more loving culture, while others appear to be consumed in stress or violence.

So, why do different people understand love differently?

Love is misunderstood because of our Ego. The “Ego” which is likened to a self-defense artificial intelligence software preinstalled in our brain when we were born that’s designed to protect us through fear. Whenever we are hurt, the Ego automatically responds to our lack by installing hyper-protective thought patterns that form the basis of how each of us experiences this reality called Life.

Because most of the thought patterns were installed when we experience a situation that our Ego perceives as a form of lack in our lives (i.e., lack of safety, lack of attention, lack of validation, lack of wealth, lack of confidence, etc.), they are powered by needs, desires, and fear.

People who live unconsciously are therefore asleep while their Egos run their lives, and the person who is conscious of their Ego and is constantly working to set their Ego aside is therefore awakened.

How many people do you know that say they want love but are in fact stuck in a repeating pattern chasing wealth, pleasure, power, attention, or validation because they are asleep and unconsciously driven by their Ego’s response to lack?

Every human is searching for true love because only true love can bring about unlimited amounts of joy, freedom, trust, gratitude, and peace.

Set aside your Ego, and you will begin to understand True Love.

So, what is True Love?

At the most fundamental level, love is simply “giving with good intentions”.

When someone is asleep and unconsciously pursuing Ego-based desires or needs, their intentions are all Ego-driven. As such, all their thoughts and actions are powered by selfish intentions, which are not “good intentions” and therefore not love.

One could say that the asleep person is not capable of “true love,” because anyone who is driven by Ego-intentions is pursuing temporary gratification or “fake love.”

Yet the Ego’s journey is also a path towards spiritual awakening, because it takes some time  chasing Ego-driven needs and desires to realize that “true love” does not exist there. Only when we have reached that conclusion will we finally be ready to be awakened. As such, those who are awakened must be compassionate towards those who are still asleep.

True Love is Absolute

The journey to understanding and embodying true love is what we call one’s Spiritual Journey. While various spiritual practices have outlined different ways of achieving enlightenment, Dana and I believe there is an easier way to do so taking into account the nature of our reality. Something we hope to soon share in our upcoming book.

Once a person awakens and understands true love, there is no going back. Because true love is absolute. Someone either truly loves you or they are incapable of true love. You either truly love yourself or you don’t.

Step one

Understand love

Step two

Love yourself
